Now this might sound just a little bit random but it has happened to me more times then I can count.
The conversations go as follows…
“Aww she’s so cute!”
“She’s tiny how old is she?”
“8 months”
“Wow 8 months! She’s tiny isnt she?”
I mean??
What is the deal with some people? For real? I can imagine some ladies are saying it, not really thinking, while others are just plain rude, but I get it all the time. I got it alot with my oldest daughter and now its the same with the new baby.
Now my thing is, its ok to see a cute baby and smile and do all the ooos and awws but to go as far as to comment without really knowing the situation can be quite harmful to the mothers feelings. We have no idea if the baby was born prematurely, if the baby is ill now, if there is some on going issue that is taking place in their life causing the baby to be small or in my case, just to have naturally petite babies who are perfectly healthy but just not mini Michelin man.
It goes without saying, that the biggest worry for mothers is if they are doing their best taking care of their kids. We are tough enough on ourselves already so why do we feel the need to be tough on or put added pressure on other mothers too.
Let us as mothers work together to help rebuild and restore the confidence that can so often be forgotten, when the demands of motherhood become the most important thing in our lives. We owe to each other to say the things that we would like to hear when we are at our lowest times because we have no idea what someone else is going through.
You know, one of my favourite adverts on tv at the moment is the SMA advert where at the end it say “take it from us, your doing a great job!” Everytime it comes on I secretly say thank you. Sometimes its good to hear some recognition for the hard work we do everyday even if it is from an advert.
So heres to all the mothers out there working hard everyday to take care of your kids whilst chasing your dreams, take it from me…YOUR DOING GREAT!
‘There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!’ Proverbs 31:29 NLT

Welcome to the world of little people. I got that a lot with DD being prem and all but not so much now. Unless the people saying it are being malicious, don’t let it bother you as it’s usually meant in a complimentary way or at least in my experience.

Hey girl! It really bothered me for awhile but when u realise you are not in control of other people then u start to overlook their negative comments and focus on the 2 blessings in front of you!

Well Hun, as the saying goes; good things come in small packages. So our babies are blessed and to the naysers oh well tough luck to them because their opinion adds no value to us. Let’s enjoy our little ones ❤️❤️❤️
