I HATE MAKE-UP! ¦ ConfidentlyKim

Anyone else feeling this way right now?

(insert sound effect here TUMBLE WEED or RAPTUROUS APPLAUSE)

Now let me first make it clear that I LOVE how my face looks in makeup…I mean come on, who doesn’t?!

But lately I’ve just not really been enjoying wearing makeup as much as I did before.

The very thought of having to do my makeup to go somewhere really frustrates me real deep… I mean REAL DEEP!

It’s the process *sigh*

  • get make up bag
  • sit down in front of mirror
  • cleanse and tone face
  • wait for face to dry
  • choose foundation
  • put foundation on
  • (btw I don’t prime my face as I have dry skin)
  • but I do prime my eye lids lol
  • do brows
  • put on concealer
  • wait
  • wait
  • wait
  • blend in concealer
  • set with powder
  • (ain’t no baking round here hunny)
  • put on mascara
  • sort out clumps in mascara
  • contour
  • blush
  • highlight
  • look in mirror and decide it all looks a mess
  • but walks away because one of my children have done something naughty.

Now my process doesn’t include half the things most women these days do and I seriously cant be bothered.

Sometimes I feel like ‘maybe if I had more time’ or ‘maybe if I had more products’ or ‘maybe if a makeup artist lived at my house and could do my makeup everyday’ kinda feelings, MAYBE I would feel more compelled to make the effort.

Now, I know that I don’t need to wear makeup to feel good about myself or even look attractive, but there are times when wearing make up completes my overall look i.e for work or a singing engagement and other times when I need something to cover the bags under my eyes from being up half the night with my #BOSSBaby and to give me a pep in my step.

With all that being said… I’m going to drag myself to wipe my make up off right now (rolls eyes right to the back of head).

*sigh*

I can definitely relate to this, going through a phase where I’d rather go bare face and let natural beauty shine, sometimes there’s too much emphasis on being ‘done up’ all the time!
